For the past 13 years, the Midwest Racing Scene has been the proud presenter of the Henry J. Fitzwater trophy that is given annually to the Pavement and Dirt Drivers of the Year. Along with partner Engine Pro, the annual Driver of the Year award is presented to the top drivers on dirt and pavement in the Midwest at the annual Michigan Auto Racing Fan Club banquet held in suburban Detroit every January. The criteria for Driver of the Year is: How many features did the driver win? How many track or series championships? How many different tracks did the driver win at? What level of competition did the driver have? Past winners include Terry Senneker, Dustin Daggett, Andy Bozell, Brandon Thirlby, Jacob Poel, John Grega and other great drivers. So we are looking for the top dirt and pavement drivers in the Midwest to be seriously considered for this year's Driver of the Year. To nominate your driver, go to the Midwest Racing Scene Facebook page and nominate your driver. Share with your friends, and then the week of September 28th the top 10 nominees will be posted. Those will be the drivers who will be considered for the pavement and dirt driver of the year.
