By Duane Turner Jason P continued his dominance in the modifieds at Spartan with his win. Bobby Stremme grabbed the 75 lap Spartan Stock “A” feature while Jordan Harvey and David Kelley took the “B” and “C” features. Lex Jarecki won the Pony Stock “A” feature as Laura Beckner won the “B” feature. The exciting 30 lap enduro figure 8 race was claimed by Chad Lamson. The 2015 Spartan Speedway harvest begins with the Boss Snow Equipment Pony Stock B feature. Ken Dollarhite Jr jumps out to the early lead with Laura Beckner and Abby Looman following in second and third. With Beckner and Ryan Hollister tied for the Slugfest championship, Hollister began to work his way towards the front. On lap nine, Hollister moves in to fourth, as Beckner challenges for the lead on the outside. With seven laps remaining, Hollister moves in to third, but Becker is out front and pulling away. Five laps to go, Hollister makes a bid for second, but needs a caution to close the gap. That caution did n ot appear, and Laura Beckner takes the win, and the Slugfest "B" Championship by just one point. Hollister takes second, with Carter Trudgeon in third. The Boss Snow Equipment A Feature has Brian Boesel pace the field on lap one. John Ward Jr settles in to second, as Wayne Beckner Jr challenges for that position. A few laps later, Wayne Beckner Jr moves to the high side and takes the lead. Brian Beckner moves in to second at lap 10, as Lex Jarecki slides in to third. With just nine laps to go, Jarecki moves to the top, and challenges for second. With five laps to go, Jarecki take second, and stays on the high side, taking the lead on lap 21. Jarecki pulls away to take the win, with Wayne Beckner Jr, and Brian Beckner the top three. Tyler Heeney is the Slugfest "A" division champion. Lipari Foods Spartan Stock C-feature has Randy Clayton lead the field on the first lap. However, on lap two, the yellow will wave as Clayton is racing under his qualifying time. Andrew Burton would inherit the lead on the restart, with most of the field racing side by side behind him. Seven laps in, David Kelly moves to the inside and takes command. Out of nowhere, James Gokee Jr moves in to second on lap 11, as the caution waves. Kelley holds the lead on the restart, but Chris Garnett takes over second. Kelley holds on to take the win, Garrett and Gokee in the top three. James Gokee Jr is your 2015 Slugfest "C" division champion. Tim Lahar starts on the pole position of the Lipari Foods Spartan Stock "B" feature. Brian Whipple leads the opening lap by a nose over Lahar, but Lahar charges back to claim the lead. 11 laps in, Jordan Harvey joins the lead pack, and takes the lead on lap 12. Mike Westphal takes over third one lap later, as Steve Allen now joins the lead pack of five cars. Allen takes over third at the half way mark, just as Lou Stremme takes over fifth. Caution on lap 18, Allen and Lahar make contact with Allen bringing out the yellow flag. On the restart, Westphal takes over second as Stremme following in to third. With ten laps to go, Marc Long takes over fifth, and then in to fourth just two laps later. With two laps to go, the top four race nose to tail. Stremme makes a challenge for the lead on the white flag lap, but a caution would wave for a spin in turn two. Harvey on the inside, Stremme on the outside for the restart, with Westphal and Long in the second row. Harvey gets the jump and takes the win with Westphal and Stremme the top three. The 75 lap Lipari Foods A-feature would see Dale Spenser and Greg Studt lead the field to the green flag. The duo stayed side by side for the first several laps until Studt takes control on lap ten. Steven Prucnell follows in second, with Pat Dent in third. Adam Rowe comes from fourth, to take second on lap 13, with Dent taking third from Prucnell. With 20 laps in, Rowe moves to the inside and takes over the lead. Two laps later, Dent takes over second with Bobby Stremme taking over third. On a lap 26 restart, Rowe regains the lead, with Stremme taking over second. Lap 30, Robby Johnston moves in to third, with Joey Barnhart in fourth. Stremme goes to the top, and takes the lead from Rowe just one lap later. At the half way mark, Barnhart moves in to second, as Dane Long sneaks in to fourth. Lap 55, Long continues his march forward to take over second. Barnhart retakes second from Long on lap 59. Gallagher takes third on lap 62, as Stremme and Barnhart continue the battle up front. With five to go, Barnhart moves to the top-side of Stremme, and the duo race side by side until a caution with two to go. Barnhart makes one last bid for the lead on the restart, but spins in turn two. Stremme survives another restart to take the win, followed by Gallagher, and Johnston. Performance Automotive Northwest Modifieds 75 lap feature would be paced by John Ledwidge on the pole position. Jim Butler uses the high side to take the early lead. Ledwidge settles in to second, with Dan Loughan taking third on lap 10. As the lead pack entered lapped traffic, Travis Eddy takes over third, and quickly challenges Ledwidge for second. Eddy finally takes second on lap 21, as fast qualifier Trei Deubel takes over fourth. On a lap 22 restart, Eddy used the high side to take the lead, and Jason Parish moves in to third on the next circuit. With 30 laps in, Parish now moves to the inside of Butler, and takes the runner up position, as caution would wave. With 35 laps in, Eddy and Parish race side by side for the lead, with parish taking full control at lap 38. With the laps winding down, Parish builds a full five second lead, and maintains that cushion to take the win. Travis Eddy settles for second, with Dan Loughan in third. The final event of the evening is the 30 lap enduro figure 8. Jared Smith takes the early lead, but Mike Gauthiar takes the point on the next lap. Carnage on lap three, with several cars making contact, bringing out the red flag. Chad Lamson takes the lead after the red flag, with Kelley Hollister on his tail. 10 laps in, Lawson makes intersection contact, bringing out another red flag, and handing the lead over to Hollister. Half way, Lamson is closing back in on race leader Hollister, but Hollister gets spun giving the lead back to Lamson. With 8 laps remaining, Lamson get spun, allowing Hollister to close back in. At the finish, Lamson takes the win with Hollister and Gauthiar the top three.
